BPA, Should you be worried?
BPA (or bisphenol A) is often found in plastic water bottles and food containers. It is used to make hard, clear plastic, the problem is that small amounts of this chemical can dissolve into the food and drink inside these plastic containers.
Exposure to BPA is a concern because of the potential side effects BPA can have on our bodies. Studies have shown that exposure to BPA can cause the following issues;
Problems with breast development, regulating periods and maintaining pregnancies.
Studies have shown that animals exposed to BPA develop abnormal reproductive systems.
Abnormalities in behaviour and prostate gland of fetuses, infants and children.
Additional research shows links between high blood pressure and BPA.
